RAPID Neurofascial Reset
RAPID is a new soft tissue, movement based therapeutic technique that addresses the central nervous systems role in releasing tension and restrictions within muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves.
RAPID sessions may be uncomfortable during the movement phase of the treatment. This occurs as the neurological system is being stimulated to restore normal function.
Many clients choose RAPID because of the rapid response to treatment. This helps active individuals to return to their regular activities quickly. If you find you have an issue that cannot seem to be resolved or are looking to try something new, give RAPID a try! You may be quite surprised with your results : )
Currently offered as a 45 Minute treatment itself or combine it with Massage for 60 minutes in total. Please bring active wear so we can have full access to your range of motion.
The jaw (or TMJ for Temporo Mandibular Joint) is frequently unacknowledged as a source of pain in the head, neck, face and vocal conditions. People who experience headaches, motor vehicle accidents, sport or work related injuries, often have jaw issues that can accumulate to overwhelming levels.Clenching the teeth is a very common habit during sleep, while concentrating, or from stress. This often results in an accumulation of both compressive forces on the joints and asymmetrical muscle tightness which can lead to clicking, pain and ultimately joint damage.
TMJ pain and dysfunction may be secondary to other conditions. Those who are troubled with headaches often have clenching and TMJ dysfunction as a silent contribution. Many cases of scoliosis or low back pain also present with TMJ difficulties, massage therapy's wholistic approach and generously timed sessions will address these related issues as well.
An Indian Head Massage is started by applying pressure to points in the upper back, arms, and shoulders that will release muscles and knots. Then move to the neck and head to reduce headache-causing blockages and encourage better circulation of the cerebral fluid. Massaging the head encourages the supply of oxygen to the brain which is one of the best ways of reducing anxiety and of lifting one’s mood. Oxygen helps you think clearly and creatively and a similar effect is experienced through exercise.
An Indian Head Massage works with the Ayurvedic concept which goes beyond the limits of healing and places emphasis on balance. Working on the chakras through Indian Massage has a powerful effect in bringing the energy of the body back into balance.
Gua sha therapy, as it relates to massage, is a specialized fascial therapy and is an application for Chinese Medicine. This technique can directly stimulate peripheral nerves, improve local circulation of blood and lymph fluid, speed up metabolism, promote nutritional supply and facilitate the body's defense system. This improves the state and function of the soft tissue in the treated area.
"Sha" is best defined as the red marks that appear on the skin from rubbing the tool repeatedly over the affected area. Blood flow is decreased anytime we have a spasm or injury. Both lactic and uric acid can get trapped underneath the skin or within a bound up muscle due to lack of drainage caused by decrease of blood flow. Signs of these metabolic waste products being released into the tissue become an evident form of sha. This sha is a positive sign for an initial treatment as it lets you know changes are happening in the underlying muscle tissue and fascia.
This technique is great for tendonitis, postural created tension, headaches, sciatica and many other conditions and dysfunctions.
Aromatherapy massage is massage therapy but with highly concentrated plant oils, called essential oils, added to the massage oil or lotion.
After the consultation, one or more essential oils are selected based on what you need and are mixed in with the massage oil or lotion. The subtle aroma of the essential oils fill the air around you during the massage. After the massage, I may suggest a blend that you can use at home in between massage treatments.
When inhaling the oils they send signals to the limbic system which controls emotions and influences the nervous system and hormones. They can affect heart rate, stress level, blood pressure, breathing, memory, digestion, and the immune system.
